What is MaiUnaGioia Job?
MaiUnaGioia Job is a satirical "work horoscope": every day it generates an ironic, deadpan forecast for a given profession or university course. It is entertainment, not advice — the whole point is that it is uselessly, painfully relatable.
Are the forecasts real predictions?
No. Nothing here predicts your future. The forecasts are generated by a simple algorithm from a hand-written pool of lines, purely to make you laugh (or wince). Do not make decisions based on them.
How are the forecasts generated?
A deterministic seed built from the date and the category picks one forecast, one "disaster of the day" and one "cosmic advice" from curated arrays. Same category on the same day = same result for everyone. No AI writes them live, no database is involved.
How often do they change?
Every day at local midnight. The pick is computed in your browser from your device date, so the site never needs to be rebuilt overnight.
Why is my forecast identical to my coworker's?
Because the forecast depends only on the category and the day, not on you. Everyone reading the "Developer" horoscope on the same date sees the same lines — that shared misery is the joke.
Can I suggest a job, a major or a line?
Yes. Use the "Suggest an entry" link: proposals are reviewed manually and, if they pass, they go live on the site. No insults and no real people.
Is it available in English?
Partly. The Italian edition is complete (80 jobs, 40 majors); the English edition is a growing subset, written from scratch rather than translated, because the humor is culturally specific.
Do you collect personal data?
The forecast itself needs no account and no personal data. Analytics/advertising cookies load only after explicit consent via the cookie banner; a cookieless page-view counter may run without cookies.
